Many of the participants in my groups this week have expressed feeling frustrated. Frustrated with school schedules changing, frustrated with siblings, frustrated with parents, frustrated with themselves. A lot of us can empathize, I’m sure. I’m thankful that the relationships formed in these groups allow for honest expression of feelings and I’m thankful for the supportive nature of the listeners. It’s not always easy to share unpleasant feelings and situations but courage is contagious:) If you find yourself frustrated, I hope you catch a little courage and share your feelings with a trusted person (or pet) too. The number one suggestion I heard offered to those struggling with frustration was “take a deep breath”. With that in mind, I’d like to share with you the guided breathing exercise we practiced last night in Relaxation Group. If you have any tips or tricks that work for you, please feel free to share them in the comments, I’m always looking for more!
